Guide:Token Sale

From Star Atlas Wiki

For the initial token sale, Star Atlas partnered with 3 different platforms:[1]

Announcement[edit | edit source]

The Token sale was originally announced on August 17th, 2021 through an article on Star Atlas' Medium by the team.

On August 19th, 2021 Santi (Community Lead) and Michael (CEO) recorded a video to further clarify the whole process and answer frequently asked questions:

Tokenomics[edit | edit source]

ATLAS[edit | edit source]

The total supply of ATLAS will be 36 billion of which 2,160,000,000 ATLAS is expected to form the initial expected circulating supply. During the initial token sale, there is 720,000,000 ATLAS (2% of total supply) available for sale.

Of that 720,000,000 Atlas:

  • 360,000,000 will be available via FTX
  • 180,000,000 will be available via Raydium
  • 180,000,000 will be available via Apollo-X

POLIS[edit | edit source]

The total supply of POLIS will be 360 million of which 21,600,000 POLIS is expected to form the initial expected circulating supply. During the initial token sale, there is 7,200,000 POLIS (2% of total supply) available for sale.

Of that 7,200,000 POLIS:

  • 3,600,000 will be available via FTX
  • 1,800,000 will be available via Raydium
  • 1,800,000 will be available via Apollo-X

US Residents[edit | edit source]

US law prevents IDO’s and IEO’s from offering their services to US citizens.

Each of the three platforms used shows a disclaimer to that effect. However, only FTX and Apollo-X have KYC (ID verification) implemented, meaning Raydium could be used, despite it not being allowed.

Quick overview of IEO/IDO[edit | edit source]

Suhail Debar made a nice graphical overview of the various IEO/IDO offering and their differences. See below for more detailed information on the three platforms.

FTX[edit | edit source]

Pool:

  • 360,000,000 ATLAS (1% of total supply)
  • 3,600,000 POLIS (1% of total supply)

Model: Bidding for allocation

Conditions[edit | edit source]

In order to participate, you will need to have completed the following by 9 PM SGT (6 AM PDT / 3 PM CEST) on August 25, 2021:[2]

  • Registered your account
  • Completed KYC (level 2)
  • Stake FTT to lock in your ticket allotment

Staking Requirements[edit | edit source]

You need to have staked at least 150 FTT on FTX to participate in the IEO. However, the more you stake, the more tickets you get:[2]

  • 150 FTT staked: 1 tickets
  • 1,000 FTT staked: 2 tickets
  • 10,000 FTT staked: 3 tickets
  • 50,000 FTT staked: 4 tickets
  • 250,000 FTT staked: 5 tickets
  • 1,000,000 FTT staked: 6 tickets

Meta-poster Bonus[edit | edit source]

FTX does not give extra tickets to poster/badge holders.

Process[edit | edit source]

There is a 1-hour window in which you are required to place your bid in the Star Atlas token sale on the platform. Bidding uses funds from IEO subaccount that needs to be created specifically for this IEO.

  • Bidding opens: August 26, 9 PM SGT (6 AM PDT / 3 PM CEST)
  • Bidding closes: August 26, 10 PM SGT (7 AM PDT / 4 PM CEST)

Per ticket you will have to bid between 400 and 500 USD and between 0 and 5 FTT, in order to have that ticket partake in the bidding process. Bids are prioritized in USD price, FTT order.

Example: a (400 USD, 5 FTT) bid will be filled before a (400, 0 FTT) bid and after a (500 USD, 0 FTT) bid.[2]

Each bid ticket, if filled, will result in a trade: you pay your bid price and receive 180,000 ATLAS and 1,800 POLIS.

Important notes:

  • If you do not win your funds will be returned.
  • If you bid FTT but would have won the auction without it, the FTT will be returned

Allocation[edit | edit source]

There are 2,000 winning tickets (360,000,000 ATLAS tokens and 3,600,000 POLIS total). On August 26 at 10 PM SGT (7 AM PDT / 4 PM CEST) FTX will raffle off the allocations. They will go to the highest bidders; in the event that there are more than 2,000 tickets each bidding $500 + 5 FTT per ticket (the maximum), FTX will allocate randomly between them.[2]

Raydium[edit | edit source]

Raydium has two pools, one for each token. Staking automatically gives you tickets for both pools.[3]

Pool 1:

  • 180,000,000 ATLAS (0.5% of total supply)

Pool 2:

  • 1,800,000 POLIS (0.5% of total supply)

Price (fixed):

  • 0.00138 USDC per 1 ATLAS
  • 0.138 USDC per 1 POLIS

Total raise: 496,800 USDC (248,400 USDC for each token)

Model: Lottery for allocation

Staking Requirements[edit | edit source]

In order to participate, you will need to have staked at least 100 RAY in RAY single-sided staking prior to 12:00 UTC on August 25, 2021 in order to participate in the IDO.

RAY must remain staked until the pool opens.[3]

Lottery tickets[edit | edit source]

You receive 1 ticket for every 100 RAY staked prior to August 25, 12:00 UTC — up to a maximum of 5 tickets. Staking more than 500 RAY will still receive 5 tickets maximum.

You will receive 1 additional ticket for every 50 RAY staked prior to August 2, 12:00 UTC — up to a maximum of 5 tickets, and 1 additional ticket for every 1,000 RAY staked prior to August 2, 12:00 UTC.

Note: Users will receive tickets for BOTH pools according to RAY staking requirements above. However, each pool must be deposited in (see Process below) separately, and winning tickets will be chosen separately for each pool.[3]

Meta-poster Bonus[edit | edit source]

Ownership of posters and reward badges will provide additional tickets. See the section below for an overview of how this number of tickets is calculated.[4]

Important: Make sure your posters are in the wallet that you used for staking, else they will not be counted!

Process[edit | edit source]

When Raydium open their pools, you need to deposit UDSC. Without the correct amount of USDC deposited, some or all of your tickets will not participate in the lottery. The reason for this is that winning tickets will reward you with either ATLAS or POLIS, and the tokens are paid for with the USDC attached to that ticket.

  • Pools open: September 1, 12:00 UTC
  • Pools close: September 2, 00:00 UTC
  • Open period of the pools: 12 hours

Once the pools open, you will need to successfully deposit USDC to activate each ticket. Each ticket requires a deposit of 69 USDC. Note that this means 69 USDC for each ATLAS ticket and 69 USDC for each POLIS ticket. Tickets that are not matched with the correct amount of USDC deposited, will not partake in the lottery.[3]

Allocation[edit | edit source]

Total number of winning tickets: 3,600 winning ATLAS tickets and 3,600 winning POLIS tickets. Allocation will be determined by a lottery system.[3]

Apollo-X[edit | edit source]

Apollo-X has four pools, three for the general public and one exclusively for poster/badge holders:[4]

Pool 1 (X-PLORATION) - 750 PAID:

  • 14,492,753 ATLAS (0.04% of total supply)
  • 144,927 POLIS (0.04% of total supply)

Pool 2 (X-PONENTIAL) - 1500 PAID:

  • 21,739,130 ATLAS (0.06% of total supply)
  • 217,391 POLIS (0.06% of total supply)

Pool 3 (X-TRATERRESTRIAL) - 4500 PAID:

  • 53,768,115 ATLAS (0.15% of total supply)
  • 537,681 POLIS (0.15% of total supply)

Pool 4 (STAR ATLAS) - Bonus pool for poster/badge holders:

  • 90,000,000 ATLAS (0.25% of total supply)
  • 900,000 POLIS (0.25% of total supply)

Price (fixed):

  • 0.00138 USDC per 1 ATLAS
  • 0.138 USDC per 1 POLIS

Model: First come, first served

Conditions[edit | edit source]

In order to participate, you will need to have completed the following by August 29, 2021:[4]

  • Registered your account
  • Completed KYC
  • Stake PAID to lock in your ticket allotment

Staking Requirements[edit | edit source]

Each of the 4 pools requires a different amount of PAID to be staked:

  • Pool 1 (X-PLORATION): 750 PAID
  • Pool 2 (X-PONENTIAL): 1500 PAID
  • Pool 3 (X-TRATERRESTRIAL): 4500 PAID
  • Pool 4 (STAR ATLAS): Participation in any of the other 3 pools (exclusive to poster holders)

It's also important to note that you can only stake in 1 of the first 3 pools. And you need to have staking in one of those to be able to join the 4th pool. This means that in order to participate in the IDO you will need to have staked at least 750 PAID.[4]

Staking of PAID begins on August 20, 2021 to determine your ticket allotment, and remains open until August 29, 2021. The staked tokens are locked for 14 days, so you can’t use them to participate in other Apollo-X or Ignition pools during that time.[5]

BSC[edit | edit source]

Staking needs to be done using PAID that is on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC). If you have Ethereum based PAID, you can swap it for BSC-based using their bridge.

Process[edit | edit source]

On Aug 29, 2021 7 AM PDT / 2 PM UTC the whitelist will open. On Aug 30, 2021 11 AM UTC the pools open.[5] Signing the whitelist will guarantee a token allocation, however this is done on a first come, first serve basis.[4]

During staking you will get the question to enter your Solana address. This is both to verify your poster tickets (if you have them), but more importantly this will also be the address where your future (potential) ATLAS and POLIS will be airdropped to.

Exclusive pool for poster/badge holders[edit | edit source]

There is an exclusive "bonus" pool for poster/badge holders. To participate you need to own posters/badges that are worth at least 1 ticket (see Meta-poster Bonus section below). Note that you will still need to stake at least 750 PAID in one of the other pools as well to be able to participate in this pool.

The total number of tickets will determine the likelihood of allocation up to the maximum size per participant.

Guaranteed allocation[edit | edit source]

This pool is the only one in this IEO/IDO where those participating will be guaranteed to receive a fixed amount of ATLAS and/or POLIS![6]

The guaranteed allocation is:

  • $6.125 worth of ATLAS per ticket (≈ 4,438 ATLAS)
  • $6.125 worth of POLIS per ticket (≈ 44.38 POLIS)

Round 2[edit | edit source]

After the guaranteed allocation has been completed, what remains in the pool will become available in a second round. Allocation will be identical to round 1, each ticket will be able to get $6.125 worth of ATLAS and $6.125. This is on top of the guaranteed allocation from the first round.[7]

This second round follows the same 'First come, first serve' model as the other pools do on Apollo-X. This means that you will have to be whitelisted for round 2 as early as possible when this process starts, to make sure you get any ATLAS/POLIS at all. Details on round 2 will be announced at a later date.[7]

Allocation[edit | edit source]

The allocation for each of the 4 pools is as follows:

Pool 1 (X-PLORATION) - 750 PAID:

  • $69 worth of ATLAS (= 50,000 ATLAS)
  • $69 worth of POLIS (= 500 POLIS)

Pool 2 (X-PONENTIAL) - 1500 PAID:

  • $138 worth of ATLAS (= 100,000 ATLAS)
  • $138 worth of POLIS (= 1,000 POLIS)

Pool 3 (X-TRATERRESTRIAL) - 4500 PAID:

  • $187.50 worth of ATLAS (= 135,000 ATLAS)
  • $187.50 worth of POLIS (= 1,350 POLIS)

Pool 4 (STAR ATLAS) - Bonus pool for poster/badge holders:

  • $6.125 worth of ATLAS per ticket (≈ 4,438 ATLAS) guaranteed!
  • $6.125 worth of POLIS per ticket (≈ 44.38 POLIS) guaranteed!
  • what is left over after guaranteed allocation will become available in a second round (FCFS). Here one would be able to buy up to the amount they were guaranteed in the first round.[6]

Important note (by Michael): If you are staking in the higher tiers, you'll also have access to any remaining liquidity in the lower tiers.

Meta-poster Bonus[edit | edit source]

If you own any of the meta-posters on August 25, 2021 - 8 am PDT / 15:00 UTC (date of the snapshot) you will be able to improve your chances of success at the IDO's at Raydium and Apollo-X.[4] Both posters and their reward badges give you additional bonus tickets that can be used on these platforms.

Note that you still need to stake the minimum in RAY or PAID to be able to be eligible for these additional tickets.

The table below presents an overview of the amount of extra tickets each poster is worth:[4]

  • You need at least 1 ticket to participate in Apollo-X’s pool that is exclusive for poster/badge holders[4]

Bonus Ticket Calculator[edit | edit source]

Suhail Debar (one of SA’s Discord mods) implemented an online tool where you can easily and quickly calculate the number of bonus tickets you are eligible for.
